Pima County Juvenile Court

Elements of design:
• Security for both public spaces and non-public areas
• Intake, fingerprinting, evidence storage, and custody areas
• Sallyports and controlled access areas
• Administration, interview rooms, staff locker rooms, and break areas
• Sleep rooms, food service, day rooms, and fitness areas
This large-scale project needed to be completed on an extremely accelerated time schedule. All construction documents were completed in 5 months including quality control and value engineering. ABA Architects, in collaboration with Durrant Architects, prepared multiple-bid packages to accelerate the construction schedule as well, and the firm was sensitive to the surrounding neighborhoods during the design of Pima County Juvenile Court through minimizing negative impacts such as noise, lights, traffic, and security.
